For over a decade, WATA Factory has supported the local tech community through initiatives such as WATA Academy — open training programs featuring national and international speakers — English conversation meetups, and by hosting tech communities in its facilities.
On April 23, we will host the first GDG Jerez (Google Developer Group) meetup at our offices. GDG is a global developer community supported by Google that organises events to share knowledge and experiences. For Jerez, this marks the beginning of something we hope will grow and strengthen over time.
📍 Location: WATA Factory offices, Jerez de la Frontera
🗓 Date: April 23
🎟 Admission: free (registration required)

A space to learn and connect
The event will feature an opening talk by Marco Antonio Blanco titled “Introduction to Mobile App Development with .NET MAUI”, where we’ll explore how to approach cross-platform mobile app development using this framework. The goal is to break down key concepts and share a practical perspective on how these solutions are being built today.
There will also be a second talk. Susana Córdoba will present “Compose without chaos: structuring UI with UDF and small composables”, a session focused on keeping UI code organised and manageable in Compose projects by applying unidirectional data flow and breaking the UI into small, well-defined components.
The approach is simple: technical content with real-world application and room for participation. We want people to ask questions, compare approaches, and leave with practical ideas they can apply in their day-to-day work.
Beyond the talks
As usual in this kind of meetup, we’ll wrap up the event with a more relaxed moment featuring pizza and networking. If you’re interested in technology, want to learn something new, or simply feel like meeting people from the industry, don’t forget to reserve your spot.
See you on April 23 at WATA Factory!
