On June 13th and 14th, we had the pleasure of hosting the June All Hands, an internal event where our colleagues from WATA Factory shared their work on various projects. There’s nothing like learning from the experience and knowledge our own team has gained through their projects.

The doors opened at 9 a.m., welcoming the first attendees. To kick off the day in the best way possible, our German colleagues prepared a traditional breakfast from their country. This breakfast featured a variety of Brötchen (bread rolls) of different types, such as white, whole grain, rye, or barley bread, often accompanied by sunflower seeds, sesame, or poppy seeds, along with butter and jam. Cold cuts, cheese, and soft-boiled eggs were also served.

Then, it was time for the welcome speech by Germán, CEO of WATA Factory. During his talk, Germán praised the different teams for their outstanding work on projects that are vital to the company, highlighting their dedication and accomplishments. He also spoke about how valuable collaboration and innovation are for the success of these projects. Afterward, we reviewed the day’s agenda together, and with everything clear, the All Hands was officially underway.

The first training session began with an online talk by our German colleague and PL, Fabian T. With support from Isa D., our QA Lead, and Carlos M., a developer, Fabian guided us through the development and design of one of his standout projects. During the presentation, we explored the challenges they faced and the innovative solutions they implemented, followed by a Q&A session that allowed for a deeper dive into the projects.

After a coffee break, it was the turn of our developers Paco, Fabio, and Mario, who presented their talk titled “GesA: A Technical Improvement from the Development & QA Perspective.” They explained how they technically improved the GesA application, highlighting their role in each challenge, the process, and the lessons learned along the way. GesA is a tool that identifies labor demands and employee resources, promoting mental health at work—a key aspect that reflects our company culture.

Once the day’s talks were over, it was time to recharge with lunch at a nearby restaurant, where we enjoyed authentic Jerez cuisine. In this relaxed atmosphere, ideas and knowledge from the morning flowed naturally among colleagues.

Upon returning, we started our famous department meetings, which are always highly productive. While the hybrid model allows us to conduct these meetings online, nothing compares to doing them in person. These face-to-face meetings foster a much richer dynamic, enabling smoother and more effective communication.

We ended the day informally, spending some time together, enjoying drinks, and chatting casually. These moments not only bring joy but also strengthen us as a team—something vital for working well together.

The second day began with a flavorful Andalusian breakfast that gave us the energy to start fresh.

We kicked off with the day’s talks, where we learned from our colleagues’ experiences with Power BI in various projects. In the first talk, we explored how Power BI has been used in different WATA Factory and KAUFFELD & LORENZO projects. Finally, we reviewed projects where we’ve integrated AI, sharing experiences and lessons learned.

Next, we focused on our project-specific meetings, advancing together and in person on the projects that occupy our daily work. These meetings allowed us to delve into the details of each project, discuss progress, and plan next steps with more direct and close collaboration.

The afternoon concluded with a well-deserved lunch at our facilities, where we shared our impressions and reflections as a team about the All Hands event. During this meal, new connections were made, and existing ones were strengthened, solidifying the team spirit that defines us.

We want to give a huge thank you to all the colleagues who shared the strengths and challenges of their projects with us, allowing us to learn from their processes and work. Thank you all for making this event possible and for sharing your talent and experience with the rest of the team.

We say goodbye until the next All Hands, to be held in September, motivated to continue learning and growing together.
