Flexible work at WATA Factory: you set your own pace

At WATA Factory, we don’t believe in rigid schedules or in working 9 to 5 just for the sake of it. Every person, every project, and every line of code has its own rhythm — and we want everyone to organize their time in a way that works for them, not the other way around.

That’s why we created our time bank (flexitime account): a system designed to give you complete control over your working day and your life.

Everyone works at least 4 hours a day – how you arrange the rest of your time is entirely up to you. You can take hours whenever you need them and balance them out whenever it works best for you. It’s even possible to build up to +40 or –40 hours, and those can be carried over into the following year. In practice, this means that if one day you’d like to leave early to have lunch with your family, spend time on a hobby, or dive deeply into a complex project, you can do so without having to make up the time immediately — and without it affecting your salary.

Time for what really matters

Picture an ordinary day: in the morning, you’re closing an intense sprint, solving problems and moving forward with your team at full speed. Later, you decide to disconnect, go to the gym, or simply take a walk — and then come back refreshed and clear-headed. Thanks to our time bank, the time you took for yourself isn’t lost; you can make it up gradually whenever it suits you, even months later, always within the bank’s limits.

Or imagine it’s Friday and you want to leave early to start that weekend trip you’ve been looking forward to. No problem: you take those hours and return them when it best fits your schedule. That freedom turns work from a rigid obligation into something that blends seamlessly with your life — protecting your well-being, fuelling your creativity, and making every project more enjoyable.

Kauffeld & Lorenzo: science in the service of well-being

Our way of working is inspired and strengthened by our collaboration with Kauffeld & Lorenzo, a German consultancy specialised in human resources and applied psychology. We don’t just receive their support — we work side by side, learning and applying together how to create an environment where people can perform at their best, enjoy their work, and maintain balance in their personal lives.

Our partnership with Prof. Dr. Simone Kauffeld, a world-renowned expert in work psychology and talent development, allows us to structure our time bank and workplace culture so that employee well-being is as important as the results they deliver. Every project and every decision about schedules or breaks is guided by the expertise and science of Kauffeld & Lorenzo.

WATA Factory Manifesto: your talent, your time

The time bank is not just an administrative system — it’s our statement of principles. At WATA Factory, we value the quality of work, the creativity of ideas, and the satisfaction of the people behind them above any rigid schedule.

With flexible work, inspired and developed in collaboration with Kauffeld & Lorenzo, you have the freedom to set your own pace, accumulate hours as needed, get inspired, live fully, and perform better. A rested, motivated team that has control over its time is an unstoppable team. And that is exactly what we are at WATA Factory.
